What we do.W.A.A.R. is putting a stop to rape and sexual assault through self-defense classes, sex education, and student empowerment.
Self-defense. This Means W.A.A.R. is working to integrate self-defense classes into physical education curriculum. Beginning the program in sixth and carrying into seventh grade, the goal is to ensure that all students are capable of defending themselves from unwanted sexual advances.
Sex Education. In addition to implementing self defense into curriculum, W.A.A.R. is also working to reform sex education to include emphasis on consent and safe sex in straight and non-straight relationships, both of which are often overlooked in standard sex ed. Our program will provide truthful and candid sex education in an open environment for all students.
Student Empowerment.Additionally, our goal is to motivate male and female students to look out for not only themselves but for any person in danger. By providing them with sex education that acknowledges scientific points of view, we strive to instill compassion and reason into the minds of younger generations.
